Kane's Observations / Customer Care Privacy built around clarity

The Private Archive

Your trust deserves clear stewardship.

A practical record of the information used for browsing, accounts, orders, collections, reviews, support, fraud prevention, and delivery—and the choices that remain yours.

The short version: information is used to operate and secure Kane's Observations, serve customers, and fulfill orders—not sold or rented. Contact us
01

Collect

What enters the archive

The categories collected depend on whether you browse, create an account, save content, contact us, or place an order when checkout is enabled.

Identity, contact, and account

Name, email address, telephone number, shipping and billing address, account identifier, authentication status, profile preferences, saved addresses, and information used to verify or secure an account. Authentication providers handle passwords and sign-in credentials; Kane's Observations does not display your password.

Orders and transactions

Cart contents, products, quantities, prices, promotions, tax, shipping method, order notes, order and refund status, payment-provider transaction references, limited payment-method details, tracking, delivery, support, and fraud-review information. Full payment-card numbers and card security codes are entered into and handled by Stripe, not stored by Kane's Observations.

Collection and community content

Wishlist entries, private collection shelves and items, uploaded collection photos, profile images, product reviews, review images, restock requests, notification preferences, and related timestamps or product references.

Messages and documents

Information submitted through contact forms, email, support requests, damage or shipping claims, attachments, photographs, order numbers, and communications with customer care.

Device, use, and security data

IP address, browser and device type, operating system, requested pages, approximate request time, referral information, session and authentication events, security-challenge results, rate-limit events, error records, and other logs reasonably needed to deliver and protect the site.

Information not intentionally requested

Do not send Social Security numbers, government identification, health information, or payment-card details through contact messages or uploads. If a claim requires sensitive documentation, wait for specific secure instructions.

02

Source

Where information comes from

Most information comes directly from you or from the service providers involved in the feature you choose.

From you

Forms, account settings, checkout, uploads, reviews, saved lists, collection tools, support messages, emails, and any information you choose to provide.

From your device and browser

Technical requests, storage records, authentication state, security events, and interactions needed to load pages, remember a cart, keep a session, or diagnose a failure.

From providers and transaction partners

Payment and refund status from Stripe; authentication, database, and storage records from Supabase; address-validation results from USPS; delivery and tracking events from carriers; form-delivery records from Formspree; email-delivery events from email providers; and security signals from Cloudflare.

From public or lawful sources

When reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, authenticity review, legal compliance, or a customer-requested investigation, we may use public records, manufacturer or distributor information, carrier records, and information supplied by payment or professional advisers.

04

Share

Limited disclosure for defined work

Providers receive information only for the service they perform or another permitted purpose.

Service providers

Supabase provides authentication, database, and storage; Stripe provides payment services; USPS supports U.S. address validation; shipping carriers and insurers support delivery; Formspree delivers contact-form submissions; Cloudflare provides security checks; hosting, content-delivery, email, and technical providers support site operations. Each may process request or transaction data under its own role and terms.

Business and professional needs

Information may be disclosed to accountants, insurers, attorneys, auditors, security specialists, and other advisers when reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate duties; or in a merger, financing, asset sale, reorganization, or similar transaction with reasonable protections for the information.

Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security events, enforce agreements, or respond to regulators, courts, carriers, insurers, and payment disputes.

No sale or behavioral advertising

Kane's Observations does not sell or rent personal information and does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No third-party advertising network is enabled on the site. We will update this policy and provide legally required choices before materially changing that practice.

05

Remember

Cookies, browser storage, and signals

A small amount of browser storage keeps core features usable and secure.

What the site stores

Cookies and browser storage may keep authentication sessions, carts, cart identities, wishlists, recently viewed items, feature preferences, security state, checkout recovery records, and other strictly functional information. Some signed-in content is synchronized to the account; some browser-only data remains on that device.

Your choices

Browser controls can delete or block cookies and local storage, but sign-in, carts, checkout, saved preferences, and security checks may stop working. You can remove eligible saved account information using account controls or a privacy request.

Do Not Track

Because “Do Not Track” is not a uniform legally recognized standard, the site does not currently change its functional behavior solely in response to that browser setting. Kane's Observations will honor legally required opt-out preference signals where applicable.

Third-party collection

Providers that load or receive a request—such as Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare, Formspree, content-delivery providers, and font providers—may receive technical data such as IP address, device information, and request time. They are not authorized by Kane's Observations to use site data for unrelated behavioral advertising.

06

Protect

Retention and reasonable safeguards

Information is retained for its purpose, then deleted or de-identified when reasonably appropriate.

Retention

Account and private collection data are generally retained while the account or feature remains active. Browser-only data remains until it expires or is cleared. Contact and claim records are kept while the matter is active and for a reasonable follow-up period. Order, payment, refund, tax, fraud, consent, and dispute records may be retained longer to meet legal, accounting, warranty, security, and claim obligations.

Deletion limits

A deletion request does not require removal of information that must be retained for an order, tax record, fraud prevention, security investigation, legal claim, legal hold, or another lawful exception. When practical, retained information is restricted to the required purpose.

Security

Kane's Observations uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the information, including access controls, secure transport, provider security controls, data minimization, protected storage, testing, monitoring, and incident-response procedures.

No absolute guarantee

No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Use a unique password, protect your devices, sign out of shared devices, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account activity.

Security is an ongoing practice. Kane's Observations maintains reasonable safeguards and will provide legally required notice if a qualifying security incident affects protected information.
07

Control

Your information and choices

Requests are reviewed under the law that applies to the person and the information.

Account controls

Signed-in customers can review or change certain profile, address, preference, wishlist, collection, and review information through the account. Marketing choices can be changed through account controls or the unsubscribe method in the message when marketing email is offered.

Privacy requests

You may ask to know, access, correct, or delete eligible personal information, or exercise another right available under applicable law. Email contact@kanesobservations.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and describe the request and the email associated with the account or order.

Verification and response

We may need to verify identity and authority before disclosing, changing, or deleting information. We will respond within the period required by applicable law or, when no period applies, within a reasonable time. We will explain if a lawful exception prevents the requested action.

Authorized agents and appeals

Where applicable law permits an authorized agent or appeal, contact the same address and identify the request. Kane's Observations may require proof of authority and direct identity verification. We will not discriminate for exercising a legally protected privacy right.

Children under 13

The site is not directed to children under 13, and Kane's Observations does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. United States operations

Kane's Observations operates from New York, United States. Information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards and law.

Policy changes

We may update this policy prospectively as services or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised, and material changes may receive additional notice when appropriate. An earlier policy remains part of the record for transactions completed while it was displayed, subject to applicable law.
